The International Convention Centre is one of the most popular places in the city for a wide variety of events and shows in an architectural marvel located along the canal. Inside, you'll find a wide-open atrium with several connecting bridges and walkways to ease travel on the upper floors.
Even when there aren't any events going on, the surrounding walkways and bridges over the canal can make for a lovely stroll. When there isn't an event taking place, people generally spend about an hour in the area enjoying the connecting Centenary Square and canal.

International Convention Centre highlights
One of the most impressive features of the convention centre is Symphony Hall. This concert venue is home to the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and hosts about 270 events each year. While the venue can seat 2,262 guests, it's still best to get your tickets well in advance.
The convention centre is quite spacious in its own right. You'll find 10 different areas that events can make use of in addition to Symphony Hall. The main conference auditorium can seat 1,502 people, while Hall 3 has an impressive capacity of 3,000.

Good to know when visiting the International Convention Centre
It's important to know that there are 2 primary entrances to the convention centre. Entering on one side will put you right along the Birmingham Canal Old Line, while the other entrance faces Centenary Square. Don't forget to check out the Birmingham Repertory Theatre across the street if you enjoy live performances.
If you cross the canal from the convention centre, you'll find yourself in Brindley Place, a popular shopping and dining area complete with an art gallery and theatre. The National SEA LIFE Centre is just a short walk across the canal as well.
