The room was okay, the reception on the tele was poor and the bathroom could do with a deep clean, mouldy grout and a stained bath, the bed moved a bit due to being on rollers! This place in need a a massive upgrade. For the price we paid for the night, it really wasn't that nice. There were cobwebs in the bathroom, mould in the grout, stains in the bath (spa bath- i imagine the jets would be filthy too), blood or other on the top of the doona (under the sheet/cover). The beds and pillows were also average. On a positive note the location to the tram and soon to be new station at ANZAC Station was handy. Reception staff were also friendly.

We booked here so we could walk to the Sydney Myer Music Bowl for a concert. Advertised 'premium cable tv' (outdated info) it was an old Chanchong analog TV with about 6 channels - no HD channels. Asked about replacement the guy at the reception said angrily he is 'sick of people complaining about the TV' - I'm sorry who doesn't have HD TV's these days. The fridge was broken and there was no replacement, they offered to put our food in their fridge though we wouldn't have any access to it until morning, so we wrapped in a wet towel on the bench for the night. Enquired about getting another room, and was told that the motel was booked out, there's 44 rooms and only 6 cars in the car park at 11.30pm. The female receptionist was very rude saying 'what do you expect when you only pay $147.00 after Expedia take their commision, the parking is worth $25 a night.' Yes it is cheap for Melb, and we didn't expect perfect for this price, though they advertise one thing and deliver another, I am entitled to question it. The bed was ok, only good thing. Dining chairs were stained and very saggy, something lumpy stuck on side of the dining table, the bedside table had wax? on it, rubbish bin hadn't been emptied, no exhaust fan in the bathroom, everything was damp after a shower. We were offered a refund of their cost $147 and then we go and find another motel, this was at 6pm, so finding another motel wasn't an option. Their attitude was 'thats what's there, take it or leave it.

Information on the wotif confirmation email was incorrect: it said the front desk was open until 11pm. When I phoned at 8:30pm I was told it was about to close and I needed to get there quickly! We had to leave our concert early to check in. Also, when I phoned the previous day I was told parking for an extra car was $10 and when we arrived I was about to be charged $20 until I showed the phone record. The room was adequate, bed comfortable, linen clean. The shower taps were very difficult to turn, but the water pressure was great.

You get what you pay for and that’s what we got. In need of an upgrade. Room smelt on arrival, bathroom had a very strong chemical smell. Room was neat and tidy but everything was old and tired. Disappointed that there was a single doona spread across a double bed and only 1 pillow. Wouldn’t stay again based on what was offered but like I said it served its purpose.
