The hotel itself was very sleek and modern; the lobby especially had a great ambience. The concierge staff was also extremely helpful and well-informed about the region. Breakfast was good quality, but could have had more variety for the amount charged per person. The spa also had a lovely mood, and the steam room and sauna were very relaxing; the only thing missing was a hot tub as the pool was only somewhat warm.
However, the rooms themselves were less than impressive. The rooms have absolutely zero personality (not even a single photograph or painting on the wall). We immediately noticed that the room we were given reeked of smoke, so much so that breathing felt a bit stifling. After mentioning it to the front desk, we were given a different room, which was unfortunately a downgrade from the original room. The right bedside table was broken, dangerously tilted and barely hanging onto the wall. The mattress topper on the bed was unbelievably lumpy, especially on the top, where it poofed up directly (and uncomfortably) underneath the pillows. To make matters worse, the bedsheets had multiple stains and should never have passed housekeeping inspection. At that point, it was late, and we were too tired to switch rooms yet again.
Overall, the hotel's outside look and feel doesn't match its room, which were underwhelming and disappointing.
