2/10 Poor

We were greeted by an individual whose first words to us were you didn't pay enough but that is ok because your TV does not work. Then I was told that my amount owed was $30 less than what I already paid. When we went up to the room it was old, dirty not well kept, nor was it safe. The shower current was what appeared to be a Dollar Tree Liner (looked like a garbage bag) there were old tattered towels. The bed was awful, old lumps and when you laid on the bed you were literally hitting the bottom of the bed, there were no cushion or coiling left. The motel was more a long term rental location than an overnight stay. The long term guests were questionable. When checking out and asking for a receipt I was advised that this was not possible, yet the day before he had a printed down piece of paper that had all the information I would need. I usually give the benefit of the doubt but in this case, this location needs to be removed from the Expedia Listings until they update and turn around. This is a lesson learned and I will not return to this location.

The service was good but the room was renovated poorly. Also I was charged $50 more for the room by expedia than the motel actually charges. A terrible night but the people are nice and polite.

only one bath towel. Had to ask for another- which was the size of a hand towel. Both looked like they came from a yard sale. Hotel manager and dog sat on steps talking loudly till late at night.

When I arrived at stagecoach motel I was told that orbitz over booked and the she would send me to her sister motel called coach n 4. I had no choice as I had an event to go to nearby in Chicago park. The hotel room at coach n 4 was filthy and frankly I didn’t feel safe staying there. The door had a hole in it, I could see light shinning threw, their were several exposed old wiring also the tv did not work, the main light did not work, the shower curtain had mold and I saw bugs crawling on the bathroom counter. As I said before I had an event to go to and left and the returned late and slept. Also it smelled of bleach so strong it made me sick. Stagecoach hotel was $130 a night and there is no way the same price should apply to this hotel. I want a refund or I will seek higher resources.

This place is for people who want to live in a hotel. There was ants everywhere, TV didnt work, plastic wrapped hard matress, someone had punched a hole in the bathroom door, and it looked as if someone kicked in the front door at 1 time then it was repaired.

Motel Room Not as Nice and Kept up as Advertised
The picture of the room that appeared when I was looking for a hotel using AAPR Expedia was nothing like the actual room. I paid $141.90, including tax. I thought that was worth it based on the picture. I feel that this motel was falsely represented. When we arrived we found the place to be run down. The furniture was old. The bathtub was brown instead of white. The curtain was falling off the hooks on either end. Due to the condition of the room, it should have been $30 per night rather than what I paid. This hotel was not comparable to a good Super 8 or Best Western. As another customer pointed out in a review, it was noisy. Around 9 PM at night when I was seriously considering checking out, even if I had to pay anyway, there was an argument was going on outside our door. That was a scary situation for me considering the possibility that people may have guns. The only reasons I did not leave is that I did not think I'd find a vacancy that late in the evening. Plus, we were tired from a day of travel. From now on, I will always look for Hotels that are part of a good name chain, such as Super 8, Best Western, La Quinta or Days Inn. I would never go to the Stage Coach Inn again or recommend it to anyone else. I think AARP should review the picture that is shown in the reservation process and compare it to the actual rooms. Maybe they have one or more rooms like this. I did not see one. Please view multiple rooms to be sure. Ours was on the ground floor.

Best avoided
It beats sleeping in your car but it’s noisy. Appliances, vents and neighbors could keep you up at night, Positives are that there’s a toilet, sink but the shower doesn’t know it it’s hot or cold. The staff is friendly but my guess that they point out the key drop off is that they’d rather not hear you complain the morning after.

I needed someplace cheap.
The floor in the room is tile so I wore a clean pair of white socks to keep my feet warm. they quickly became black on the bottom. the room is old and broken down but served its purpose. I got the impression people lived there. For the condition of the hotel, it should have been cheaper.

Would not even go inside...
Viewed from outside of building, looked scary. Dim parking lot, with old abandoned looking truck in parking lot. Beware of Dog sign in one doorway. Drapes looked to be stuck to the windows, dark on inside. Screen door looked broken. Look's like something you would see in a horror film. Did not want to even go in - just lost our money, but may have saved ourselves a very bad experience!

I booked a hotel with a poor customer rating
I booked based on location, which was fine. The room had no trash can, the toilet leaked, there was no toilet paper holder, just a roll sitting on the edge of the tub. And, the walls were thin, there was a wierd truck parked right outside our room, all of the smokers hung out in a strange sitting area right by our room. Average hotel customer rating is 1.9, I'd put it a bit lower than that. On the bright side, the location was good, and we were only in the room for a minimal time.

A bit run down
The room was $100 for the night. It should have been $40. The room was clean, but very run down. The lights didn't work and the AC started to smoke when we turned it on and set the smoke detector off. I couldn't believe that the room was listed as $100.

Never again
First off, my room wasn't even ready when I arrived at 3:30. Check in said 3. So I proceeded to wait over a half an hour until my room was finally ready. The whole room reeked of urine and the carpet and bed were from the 1940's. Don't ever stay here. I paid 77 bucks too!!! I would have enjoyed to sleep in my car more.

Dissapointed
I assure you, what we are about to say is the truth. We arrived at the motel at dark on Thanksgiving Day. The entire motel & parking lot was dimly lit. When we registered, the young woman at the desk and the young man were very polite, courteous, and helpful. As we went upstairs to our room, we noticed cigerate buts & ashtrays outside sitting on the air conditioner units in front of every room. As we intered the room, it smelled of strong cigerate smoke, so we insisted on a different room. Upon interning the second room, it too smelled of strong cigerate smoke. The heater didn't work, & he brought us a portable heater. As we turned the heater on, it made noise & smoke came out the top. There were several cigerate burns on the bedspread. It was time to ask for a refund and we left .... We were very disappointed

Very surprised this property is listed in Expedia network. Having a need to spend the evening in Grass Valley, we wanted to patronize a family run hotel. The place was not worth the "budget" rate. The outdoor walkways to the rooms were littered. The rooms were poorly furnished and maintained. There was a large stain on the carpet, the bedding was uncomfortable, the towels were the thinnest grade possible, the night table had a missing drawer with exposed drawer guides. At a minimum, the owners need to do a much better job at cleanliness.

Wouldn't go again
We were looking for an inexpensive place to stay and it looks like we got it. We were short sheeted on the bed and there was only a bottom sheet. We didn't request that the problem be fixed because it was so late when we went to sleep. The tub had a crack in it (with an attempted old brown patch repair in a white tub) and it sank down as you stepped into it, as if there was no floor under the tub. No facial tissue. No ice. No mini frig. No microwave. Had to request a second bath towel. Local channels only. Guests (I think) were sitting smoking on the stairs and in the parking lot. Reminded me of a "residential" hotel.

Plumbing problems
I was relocated to another hotel property the last couple of times I tried to stay here. Once the sink was clogged, full of yellowish water. The other time I stayed in a room and the sink didn't work. I looked below the sink and it wasn't even hooked up. The management is obviously making improvements with fresh paint etc. but have a ways to go until they provide reliable basic service.
