Honestly everything about this stay was perfect for our Kyoto trip! If you have any doubts about staying here don’t even doubt yourself. Right in the old heart of Gion but far enough away from the super busy tourist streets that it is quiet, plus close to transport stations and easy to get to other neighborhoods. Great place! Worth every penny. The staff was polite, the room was amazing, and all the small details were taken care of. My only caveat is that the hotel was probably cheaper than some of our meals in the area! Astoundingly lovely area but it is pricey. We had a great stay at Miru Kyoto Gion. The room was very nice; it had a large king size room with sliding doors separating it from the lounge area. The bathroom facilities were great. We also enjoyed the complementary croissant in the morning. The staff were very friendly and helpful (and we appreciate that they could speak English! We are so embarrassed not to know more Japanese). The location is great, in a lower density part of the older side of town, a quick walk to main roads, and also across the bridge to the taller side of town. Highly recommended.
