We very much enjoyed our stay at Davanzati. We liked the intimacy of the building (as in a home), the lobby and breakfast/social room, the bedrooms (with wood trim, tile floors, high ceilings, etc.), but the standout feature was the two front desk staff. We met two of them, one more that the other. He greeted us and everyone else by name when arriving or departing, was helpful with directions or information about sights, and had an outgoing, amazingly customer-focused personality that really was beyond anyone else we have encountered.
The have a free happy hour at 6:30 with subdued lighting, wine, and snacks. This was a wonderful opportunity for us to meet other guests.
There are the stairs to deal with, but the staff bring your luggage up and down for you. The rooms are air conditioned, but our room was warmer that we would have liked and they provided a fan.
All told, it was a very pleasant stay, and we would go back the next time we are in Florence.
