First stay in New York
We came to the intercontinental hotel in times square for my first visit to New York and it was awesome. One of my complaints is that even though we were on the 31st floor, you can hear all of the noise the city has. My second complaint is that the air ventilation is turbulent, I would be hot one second then cold the next. Things I loved about the hotel is that it is lovely and the service is amazing. We probably drove the front desk nuts with the amount of water pitchers we ordered. The location is awesome because you’re central to everything and the subway stop we used most was literally right outside the door. If you’re going with friends or your significant other or for business I would recommend the intercontinental in Times Square time and time again.

Good but not worth the price
It was a good place but the city view isn’t worth the extra price. Service could be better. I couldn’t reach anyone at 10:30 pm.

Great location
Conveniently located. Only 2 short blocks to the 42nd St. subway station and Port Authority Bus Terminal. Quiet at night despite the proximity to Times Square.

Held to ransom.
Really poor stay in the Intercontinental Times Square. Firstly my partner was patronised by a member of staff upon arrival when asking about the lift to the room. Next on check in we were told that there was a compulsory payment of $35 per night to cover laundry, drinks and food whether we wanted to use the facilities or not. This $35 couldn’t be transferred onto the next day. The $15 for the laundry was pointless as the most I could get for the money was 1 polo shirt washed. That wasn’t ready for me to pickup at checkout so it was lost to the hotel. It was a $100 polo shirt. The most the $10 drink part would get was one small beer which wasn’t much use to 2 people. $10 for food got you nothing. It was basically a way for the hotel to make more money out of you. We said we didn’t want to pay to but they said it was compulsory but “it isn’t stated on the Hotels.com website”. Our room wasn’t made up so we had to call down to tell the front desk. We had been out of the room that day from 07:30 until 4pm. We then had to leave the room whilst they did it. The attitude of the staff was rotten and I’d never stay there again. Felt like we were constantly being held to ransom or subject to poor service. Room was tiny too which is disappointing considering how much we paid fora “good” room.

Poor 2.0
Miserable hotel - not an enjoyable exoerirnce
Tired, miserable, worst Intercontinental I ever visited. Staff don't smile and have no empathy. Before travel I emailed to request a king bed and mentioned it was our honeymoon. They put us in a twin. After appeals they corrected this and sent us champagne, to be fair. But why do it in the first place? The Ambassador club help desk lady couldn’t have been less interested in anything much. Room was tired and dated. On check in they demand card block of usd 100 per night but we negotiated it down. Did I mention that negotiation skills are a must at this hotel? You also have to pay a usd40 per night 'facility fee' and get a credit of 25 dollars a night back. It doesn't roll over. Doesn't apply to the mini bar. 15 dollar maximum credit per day for laundry. On top of what you already paid. Honestly, it's a miserable, stressful, tired hotel with no empathy. Just go somewhere that doesn't over-charge and appreciates your business.
