Altstadt Frankfurt
Frankfurt's Old Town is where medieval magic meets modern charm on the Main riverfront. The reconstructed Römerberg square buzzes with travellers snapping pics of those fairy-tale gabled buildings that survived the war. Frankfurt Cathedral's Gothic spires tower above cobblestone streets where you can wander between museums and traditional apple wine taverns without dodging traffic. Hop on the U-Bahn at Dom-Römer station when your feet need a break from those charming but uneven cobblestones. The area offers everything from cosy boutique hotels in converted historic buildings to modern accommodation with old-world views. Kleinmarkthalle market serves up local treats while the riverfront promenade delivers postcard-worthy city skyline shots.

Bahnhofsviertel
Frankfurt's Bahnhofsviertel buzzes with energy around the impressive main train station. The area serves up a feast of international flavours with Turkish döner and Middle Eastern mezze dominating the food scene. Kaiserstrasse offers shopping opportunities while the nearby Museumsufer delivers cultural experiences just a short stroll away. Budget hotels and hostels make this area affordable for travellers who value convenience. With three tram stops and direct access to regional and international trains, you can zip around Frankfurt without hassle. The vibrant mix of ethnic markets and 24-hour establishments keeps this walkable district humming day and night.

Sachsenhausen Nord
Sachsenhausen Nord serves up Frankfurt's soul with every sip of apple wine in its traditional taverns. Cobblestone streets wind past half-timbered buildings where ceramic jugs clink and locals gather. Museum lovers can explore the impressive Staedel Museum and Museumsufer's cultural treasures, while evening entertainment buzzes along Schweizer Straße. Getting around is a breeze with several transit options including the Schweizer Place U-Bahn and South Station. Cosy boutique hotels in converted historic buildings offer authentic German hospitality within walking distance of the Main River. The area perfectly balances tourist appeal with genuine local experiences.

Innenstadt
Frankfurt's Innenstadt blends historic charm with modern financial energy. Wander cobblestone paths at reconstructed Römerberg square before gazing up at the towering glass headquarters of European banks. Shop at MyZeil mall or upscale Goethestrasse boutiques, then admire the Gothic spires of Kaiserdom cathedral. The Stock Exchange and Hauptwache offer glimpses into the city's fascinating past. Excellent public transit connects you to anywhere in Frankfurt, with multiple metro stations including Hauptwache and Eschenheimer Tor. Dining options range from traditional Apfelwein taverns to international business restaurants. The Main River waterfront is just a short walk away, perfect for a relaxing break from the urban bustle.

Gallus
Gallus blends industrial grit with multicultural flavour in this evolving Frankfurt area. The Gallus Theatre anchors a budding arts scene while Turkish bakeries and Italian trattorias line Mainzer Landstraße. Skyline Plaza offers shopping thrills, and converted warehouses now house artist studios where creativity flows freely. Well-connected by S-Bahn and tram lines, getting around is a breeze. Budget travellers appreciate the affordable accommodation and authentic eateries that cost less than city centre spots. For a genuine Frankfurt experience away from tourist crowds, Gallus delivers cultural richness without breaking the bank.

Bankers in sharp suits rush past medieval buildings in a city that refuses to choose between old and new. The Main River provides a perfect backdrop for admiring the glittering skyline locals call 'Mainhattan.' At the Römerberg, half-timbered buildings surround a square where emperors were once crowned. The Staedel Museum houses masterpieces spanning 700 years, while Frankfurt Opera offers world-class performances in a neo-Renaissance setting. Senckenberg Museum delights with dinosaur skeletons that tower over visitors. Frankfurt Zoo's exotic residents provide a peaceful escape from urban energy. For the best skyline views, cross the Eiserner Steg footbridge at sunset when the glass towers catch fire with golden light.

Hampton by Hilton Frankfurt Airport
"Close to airport"
IntercityHotel Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof Süd
"The perfect place to stay while in transit. Right across the street from the train station. Lots of places to eat nearby. Very convenient and reasonably priced. Clean and comfortable."
Frankfurt Airport Marriott Hotel
"The room was spacious and beautiful, and also smelled fresh and was super clean. The desk clerk gave us a coupon for a free beer or wine at the restaurant which was so nice. The breakfast was the best, though! So many things to choose from!"
Steigenberger Airport Hotel Frankfurt
"It’s a good airport hotel. Clean, expensive restaurant for dinner (mediocre food), but really good breakfast (included) in the morning. Unfortunately the pool was undergoing maintenance and was closed when we were there. Took the train there and it was a 10 minute walk along a nice forest path to get to the hotel… a shuttle bus was available, but the pickup location wasn’t clear (or I just didn’t read the instructions properly that pickup was in front of the parkade). Leaving the hotel, a Convenient shuttle bus that runs to terminal 1 that leaves the hotel every 20 minutes."
Hilton Garden Inn Frankfurt Airport
"Quick and friendly check in"
Maritim Hotel Frankfurt
"Excellent"
Hyatt Place Frankfurt Airport
"The room was clean we only stayed for a night before our flight."
Steigenberger Icon Frankfurter Hof
"The perfect location in Frankfurt for walking and shopping"

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Frankfurt
- Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Frankfurt is during July, August, and December, when hotel prices are lower. For those keen on exploring the city's historic landmarks, cultural sites, and vibrant urban life, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended. This duration allows visitors to enjoy a great value for money experience, discovering museums, iconic skyscrapers, charming cafes, and shopping areas, all while remaining budget-friendly. By planning your trip during these months, you may benefit from further price drops, making your visit even more economical.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: Looking for a trip to Frankfurt may be easier than ever. Start by visiting the DealsOpens in a new window section on Hotels.com to view attractive options, or check the Last-Minute Deals section to possibly find discounted rates on hotels near your travel date. By activating email alerts or push notifications, you're more likely to see flash sales and special promotions. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool via the app allows travellers to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you are promptly informed of any changes in availability or prices.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, having some flexibility with your travel dates could potentially help you find a more affordable stay in a Frankfurt hotel. If you’re in search of something a bit different, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and, at times, better value. When you make a booking through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher end, we’ll suggest alternative dates that could offer a more budget-friendly option.
- Consider your location: Opting for accommodation near key attractions or city centres may provide convenience, but it often comes with a higher price tag. For those seeking more affordable options, it may be worth considering hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between cost and accessibility to the sites you wish to visit. You could also look into independent hotels situated further afield, which are usually more likely to be affordable and can offer a more authentic experience.
