Excellent location, loved the old style building and features. We opted for the superior room much larger and an amazing view from the 3rd floor across the rooftops of Halifax. Comfy bed, the hotel is a bit dated in areas but didn't spoil our stay for one night as we watched a music event at the Piece Hall our main reason for staying in Halifax.

Great central location if visiting the Piece Hall, friendly staff. Hotel is dated and a little run down in parts. Requested twin room and had a large room with a double and single bed in, bathroom large, complimentary toiletries, tea/coffee facilities, kettle very clean/new. Beds comfy and clean. The room rates reflect the standard of hotel, basic but all you need for a night.

Firstly location is great as very central - easy reach of train and bus stations, shops etc. Staff friendly and informative. Room was very clean and had a fan, tea and coffee. Furnishings are dated but serviceable. Bed was very comfortable with soft pillows. Bit of a rabbit warren getting to room up and down stairs. There is a lift but it's slow. Would stay again as such a great location.

This property has one purpose-you need one night in Halifax and you have no other options. I will say the location is good for getting to the train station. and you will want to get to the train station to escape this property. Wi-Fi was beyond terrible, which made the TV useless. My “city view” room had a lovely view of a dirty alley and because there is no A/C the alley smells waft in. Everything in this hotel is old and dated and badly in need of upkeep. Bare minimum and I mean Bare Minimum. You got me once, but never again, and I am warning you dear traveler stay away from this place! Hotels.com should have some minimum standards for listing a property so shame on you as well.
