4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Varanasi

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Varanasi is during May, June, and August, when hotel prices are lower. For an enriching experience of the city's significant landmarks, history, and culture, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended. During this time, you can explore the stunning temples, historic monuments, and the serene Ganges River, with options for rowing and boating. Engaging in yoga sessions while witnessing the breathtaking sunrise can also enhance your visit. Overall, Varanasi offers great value for money, making it a fantastic destination for those travelling on a budget.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover attractive hotel deals in Varanasi, begin by exploring the Dealsopens in new window or Last-Minute Deals section on Hotels.com, where you may find reduced rates as your travel date approaches. You could also activate email alerts or push notifications from Hotels.com to keep abreast of flash sales and exclusive promotions, ensuring you’re informed about potential savings. Additionally, utilise the Smart Shopping feature within the app, a handy comparison tool that helps you evaluate hotel prices and amenities, so you're more likely to spot the best options for your last-minute escape.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate due to factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Being flexible with your travel dates could help you find a more affordable stay in a hotel in Varanasi. For those in search of a distinctive experience, boutique hotels may provide a more personalised touch and potentially better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could lead to a more favourable rate.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre generally tend to be more expensive. However, with Varanasi’s superb public transport links, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel located a bit further out that remains well connected. For those eager to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
