Learn more about Newport
Waves crash against rugged headlands while sea lions bark at tourists along Newport's historic bayfront. The Oregon Coast Aquarium reveals underwater worlds where octopuses solve puzzles and sea otters perform acrobatics. Climb Yaquina Bay Lighthouse for views that explain why artists never leave this coastline. At Nye Beach, locals huddle around bonfires with coffee, watching storms roll in with theatrical flair. Devil's Punch Bowl demonstrates nature's power as waves explode through the collapsed sea cave. Arrive at the Sea Lion Docks early to claim prime viewing spots. For the best clam chowder, ask a fisherman rather than consulting online reviews – they know which restaurants receive the freshest catch.

Waves Hotel NYE Beach - Newport OR
"Beautiful oceanfront property. So thankful we got a we can get away there."
Best Western Plus Agate Beach Inn
"We had breakfast very good every one was very friendly good view"
Newport Oceanfront Inn
"Under renovations so a little clunky but only real complaint is that the elevator was slow. Free salmon chowder at 5pm in the hotel lobby next door and cookies at 7. Window view was great, a little dirty but with the birds and renovation that’s probably unavoidable"
Comfort Inn Newport
"Perfect hotel. Everything you need is walkable. Centrally located, safe, clean, free breakfast nice staff. Perfect for our small family."
Seagrass Oceanfront Inn
"Superb staff on a property that could use some TLC. The room itself was clean enough, and the bedding and towels definitely so. The lav spigot was difficult to operate and the furniture and furnishings were a bit beat up. And sadly, no actual cups or glasses, but only toss-‘em provided. On the outside the door was dirty and there were traces of moss running along the gutter. But . . . 90 steps down to the beach! That and the staff made it worth the $$ for me."

Elizabeth Oceanfront Suites, an Ascend Collection Hotel
"Great location, rooms are fantastic with balcony. Ocean view is great. Breakfast was ok as it’s only for Togo. Overall enjoyed our stay"
Hotel Sylvia
"Alex at the front desk was amazing ! He was so helpful and friendly. Beautiful hotel. Nice accommodations. They have every detail covered. Cold on the patio?- here’s extra blankets at front desk. Need chairs for the beach ? Have those too. Will always stay here when visiting this area!"
Seven Seas Inn & Suites
"This was our last destination on a 3 stop beach trip, and my goodness, what a surprise! The location is fantastic! Theoretically, you could pretty much walk anywhere. It was super close to beach access, close to the downtown harbor, close to the aquarium. Our room faced the highway and we even had a little peekaboo ocean view. This property has been really beautifully updated. The room was very clean. Towels were fluffy. Bed was super comfy. Would absolutely stay again!"

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Newport
- Book for the cheapest times: Newport is most affordable to visit during January, November and December when hotel prices may drop, making it a great destination on a budget. It is recommended to spend at least 2 to 3 days in the area to fully appreciate its rich landmarks, history and culture, including attractions such as the aquarium, sea, beach, seafood, port, boating, whalewatching, beer, sunny weather and fishing. This period offers affordable, budget-friendly travel options and great value for money.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To uncover last-minute deals to Newport, begin by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may discover discounted hotel options as your travel date approaches. Additionally, consider enabling email alerts or push notifications to stay informed about flash sales and special promotions, ensuring you don't miss any chances to save. The Smart Shopping tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, which could prove invaluable. With updates on price changes and availability, you'll be well-positioned to secure a last-minute escape.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate due to various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates may help you find a more affordable stay in a Newport hotel. If you’re in search of something a bit different, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and can sometimes offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. Should the price be on the higher side, we’ll suggest alternative dates that could help you uncover a more favourable rate.
- Consider your location: Hotels situated closer to the city centre usually tend to be more expensive; however, with Newport’s excellent public transport links, you might find a more affordable, independent hotel further out that remains well connected. For those interested in exploring alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
