Fabulous value hotel!
A fabulously clean hotel with super home cooked food from dinner to breakfast. Lovely location in the heart of Conwy. The hotel staff were just wonderful all offering a ‘can do’ attitude who couldn’t do enough. Special mention to Lee, Alan and Tricia!

Great location, friendly and accommodating staff.
Manager and staff were super accommodating. They went out of there way to arrange dinner for us. Great location in the castle walls. Amazing pastry shop across street 😋 rooms were very clean and really appreciated the coffee bar in room, it was automatic, you didn’t hv to fight with cords and outlets. Little thing I know but when you need your coffee fix, it matters.

Good stay in Conwy
The staff is very friendly. The room overlooking the beer garden was comfortable and updated. The chatter from the patrons below is loud and lively, but not bothersome. The staff makes sure to move the crowds inside promptly at 11pm and to close the bar at 12pm. I appreciated that a hair dryer and fan was provided in the room. Shower is good once the settings are adjusted properly.

NIce rooms
Hotel had to correct booking error by Hotels.com, took over an hour at 11.00pm. Have to specify what time you want breakfast, and then get told off for being 5 minutes early! No off-street parking.

A Great Weekend
A very warm welcome on arrival from all the staff on Friday night, Lee booked us in and as we arrived at 7.00pm he also took our order for our evening meal and reserved our table. Lee then showed us to our room (ROOM 3) at the back of the hotel with a lovely view over river of Conwy. The room was lovely and clean, well decorated and with the most comfortable of beds, the bathroom was to a very high standard and very clean with a lovely hot shower. The meal in the night was lovely and a couple of the local beers, we had a good chat to the girls behind the bar who where so helpful and friendly. We then took a walk around the town found a couple more pubs which again had very friendly staff and people, met people from far and wide had a good chat and then back to the George & Dragon for the end of the night, before bed we slept so well as it was so quiet. Booked our breakfast for 9.00am which again was lovely just what you need to start your day, plenty of choice, the manager was looking after the breakfast and couldn't be more helpful and friendly. We had a lovely day out around Conwy Castle well worth a visit, there was plenty of people in and around and the weather was lovely too. Out for a meal Saturday night lovely, we ended the night in the George with a Welsh male Quire singing in the pub, plus the sang YNWA for me which I will never forget. Thank you so much for a great weekend you must all stay try and stay at the George & Dragon.

Avoid if you want a peaceful nights sleep
Arrived to a warm welcome and found our way to our room - Room 1. This appeared well kept and pleasant, HOWEVER....it is immediately above the bar, which was noisy until well gone midnight. The other gusts go past your room and this is very noisy as is the banging shut of bedroom doors. The view was of a small roof upon which lodged nearby extremely noisy seagulls. The window could not be shut properly thus making it impossible to shut the cries of the gulls out! This was not a restful place to sleep. Breakfast was adequate but instant coffee sachets were the order of the day - at the rates the hotel charge, then I would have expected a higher standard of coffee! Overall, poor value for money and will not be staying there again, nor sadly, can I recommend this place

Clean and Modern Over Pub
We had a very nice stay at the George and Dragon. Tip: Check in is at the pub downstairs, and try to find parking on the street or use the public car park a block away. This is a small establishment and the staff is super friendly. The room was small, modern, clean, and had a nice view to the river outside. The bar noise can get loud but stops when they close at midnight and this wasn't a problem for us. The location is very close to Conwy Castle. Overall, was a great stop and I would recommend!

Nice Hotel close to castle
Friendly hotel - nice and clean. No parking however landlord directed us to free parking a short walk away. Short walk to water front, castle and other good stuff. Will definitely stay again. Recommended.

An option if traveling on budget.
Convenient and very nice proprietors, but it's over a pub and it was very loud quite late. The bathroom left a lot to be desired. There's no lift either. Price was reasonable. Food at the in- house restaurant was good, not gourmet, but satisfying.

Too hot for comfort
My husband has mobility problems so the two steep and narrow flights to our room under the eaves was difficult. All other rooms were booked so,we couldn't change. Traffic and people using the pub were noisy until midnight, but in fairness this was a bank holiday weekend. Main problem was parking, and the nearby pay car park was expensive and overnight finished at 8 am so the meter needed feeding earlier than I would have wanted to leave my bed to get there.

Clean and adequate
This hotel is clean (stayed in room 6). I never ate there so I can't say anything about the food. The staff are not rude but they aren't very friendly either- sort of indifferent. I would go back there if I was back in Conwy, but I may think about finding a different hotel next time just to have a friendlier experience.

A Canadian in Conwy for 3 days.
Came to see the castle. Was a little apprehensive about staying above a pub but it turned out to be great. Our top floor room looked out into the bay and we saw the change in tides. Our room was new and very clean. Great use of space. We had no problem with noise during the week. Saturday was a bit of a party but things shut down around 11pm. The breakfast is excellent as is the pub food. We had to leave early Sunday moring and they were kind enough to cook us breakfast before the usual time. So kind. Hope to return someday.
