2/10 Poor

Terrible stay away
Terrible room with extremely narrow and scary stairs (less than 18 wide and only 4 inch step). No elevator, terrible washroom with no shower curtain. And on top, Hotels.com charged double the price compared to what hotel was charging directly.

As a group of backpackers it was an amazing location and just what we needed. The room was a bit small but as described, enough shared facilities which made it feel like they were your own. Kind and helpful reception who are available to let you in round the clock even after a night out! This was perfect for a 3 night stay with the included breakfast being a lifesaver. You get what you pay for and more!

Excelent location and breakfast, but this is not a hotel, it is a hostel. Stay here wasn’t a good experience. No bathroom inside the rooms, large and dangerous stairs. If you want just a cheap and good location with breakfast, this is OK. But keep on mind that you will not feel confortable at all.

This accommodation offers a convenient and relatively inexpensive option for lodging. My single room was small, and having the washroom and shower on the floor, rather than in the room, presented some challenges. The stairs are steep, which was manageable for me, but could be difficult for someone carrying luggage up to the room. This hotel is rated one star, and it meets that description. For a one-night layover, it was excellent. I would stay here again.

It was located very conveniently close to transit and main train station. When we arrived we were told the room is ready, but it wasn’t cleaned. It smelled of mould. The staircase to our room was so tiny, we could barely fit through and almost got stuck on the way. Good thing - we were given breakfast to go, and the shower was inside the room (in the Northern Europe showers can be outside the room and shared). Overall we only stayed one night, so we got what we paid for.

Detention room feels
Facility Origin: The property, originally a 1700s workshop, was not adequately disclosed as a converted hotel and hostel. Poor Amenities: The condition and amenities were subpar, including small common toilets and detached showers. Hazardous Stairs: The fire service ladder used as stairs was difficult to climb, especially with travel suitcases. Sleepless Nights: Noise from the busy corridor disrupted everyone sleep. Inadequate Lighting and Hot Water: The room lacked proper lighting and consistent hot water.

Very cheap and basic, and you get what you pay for. All the doors need oiling as you can hear every creak and opening. The rooms could do with a bit of soundproofing too. The stairs are also a very steep, so beware if you have large or heavy baggage. The staff were friendly and pleasant though. Not terrible but also not great.

Location is closer to Central Railway Station. Property is older for this the price they charge is too much.

The staff was excellent and very helpful! Facilities were clean! I’m one of the fat kinds of Americans so the facilities were a little smaller than I’m used to but they were just fine for the area. I’d come back!

The hotel is very centrally located and a great place to explore the city from in terms of how close you are to everything. The staff is very helpful and friendly, and made us feel welcome throughout our stay. The hotel is clean, and towels were replaced daily. There are no private washrooms or showers so be aware if that's not your thing. You have to return the key to the reception every time you leave which can feel a bit strange but is a policy for security as they manually have to buzz you into the building each time. The stairs are very narrow and steep. If you have a heavy roller bag you will almost definitely have to leave it in their free luggage storage. Despite the quirks of living in an old building we very much enjoyed our stay!

Nope!
Unfortunately we didn’t realize this place didn’t have a bathroom in the rooms until it was too late. It was basically a hostel, which we didn’t want. The stairs are ridiculously small & steep (basically a ladder) and the walls are paper thin. The staff was nice but the breakfast was terrible and the overall stay was regrettable. Worst place I’ve stayed, ever. We will not be back!

Great place for a quick overnight stay!
Great little gem in the middle of downtown Amsterdam. Staff was very friendly, rooms were older but very clean, felt safe. Breakfast was a nice bonus! We booked a standard double room on Hotels.com. When we arrived, we were told it had a shared hallway bathroom but were offered a room with an attached private bathroom for another 20 euros. We gladly took the offer but you should keep this in mind when booking (it does not say shared bathroom when you book rooms on Hotels.com). Overall, a great little overnight stay in the middle of downtown Amsterdam.
