A home away from home! Such a treat to live for several days as a local in Greece. Elos is a charming, tiny, hillside village with a small bakery (mainly bread baking (yum!), but also a small selection of cookies and savory pastries), a choice of restaurants, mini-market, and gas station. All shops family-owned and staffed. Our host was eager to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Our rooms were on the ground floor of a multi-story home. It had conveniences such as a kitchenette, washer, blankets, TV, and wifi which made our stay more comfortable than would have been in a hotel. We sat outside on the lovely porch, planning.day trips to Elafonisi and Paleochora. Nice that Elos is centrally located such that either is possible. Winding roads through mountains down to the beaches, but easy to drive m in April when roads are not crowded. I do want to emphasize this is someone’s home, not a hotel, which might not be for everyone. But it was right for us. We enjoyed the experience of trying on living like a local and blending in!
