"Absolutely beautiful hotel.
What I love the most is the private onsen in the room. It's in a semi-open space (not in the room, but under a roof kind of in the back balcony).
The private onsen refills itself, and temperature regulated. It was amazing.
Beautiful scenery, excellent staff, exceptional breakfast."

"This is definitely a higher end hotel, but it is still "affordable". The location is excellent and quiet. It is not in the middle of shopping and dining, but many shrines and temples are within walking distance. A subway station is only 2 minutes from the hotel, so you can go anywhere. There is also a hotel shuttle to drop you off at a couple of locations, but pick up is only from Kyoto station - about every 30 minutes. The breakfast option is outstanding and you should try it. and fitness facility. Amazing views of the garden. When it snowed it was like a winter wonderland. My friends and I were blown away by how incredibly nice the hotel was and how much nicer the employees were. This place is EXPENSIVE, but with every penny. I will be back. "

"This is a newer hotel. The location is a little difficult for walking to or from- taxis do not come by so we had to walk down to them each time. Think they haven’t found this hotel in the map yet. Room was lovely with fabulous views.
The staff was what brought our rating of this hotel down, from the minute we arrived we felt unwelcome and staff was spotty the entire stay. I could say more, but we stayed at 2 other hotels during our visit to Kyoto and their service was impeccable. This...
