10/10 Excellent
"Our room was beautiful, check-in was quick and friendly, parking was convenient and checkout was quick. The location was perfect for north and south bay. We loved it and will be back. "
"I find the accommodation ideal for our needs. The rooms are in a separate building to the pub/restaurant so noise is minimal and facilities convenient. We've stayed here several times now and I'll keep coming back."
"Lovely cosy and traditional pub / B&B. Staff are really friendly, food (dinner and breakfast) were great. Set in a quaint village and just a 20 min walk to the cliffs and an idyllic spot. "
"The hotel was kept spotless during our stay. The staff were all very friendly & helpful, especially Rhianne!
We would recommend the Talbot to anyone looking for a super hotel at a very reasonable price."
"Just a one night away trip with a couple of days coastal walking. Very smart pub with rooms. In a superior room with high quality fixtures and fittings, very comfortable. Staff all very friendly with an excellent dinner menu and very good breakfast. Only minor issue was how quick dinner service was - would have preferred to have spent longer over our meal. Starter arrived very quickly and the main arrived before we had even finished our starter ! As I say however a minor issue in the overall scheme of things and we would certainly visit again "
"Excellent value inbetween Scarborough and Whitby . If you stay here visit robin hoods bay for lovely cliff walk from bootle hill 5 mile from hotel
Breakfast was excellent and plenty of choice Staff were all polite and helpful
Would definitely stay again "
"The hotel is in a great location, high up, with great views of the Abbey and the town. There are steps up to the hotel from the town or you can walk up the road (Khyber Pass). There is limited onsite parking which needs to be booked in advance. Room 2 was clean and had a new carpet and bed. It was quite a large room with a sea view. At the time of our visit (Sept. 2025), there was a lot of noisy work being done on hotel improvements, but this will only improve the hotel for future guests. The staff were very helpful and we would definitely stay here again."
"This is such a fabulous friendly relaxing place to stay :) The staff were lovely, and the food was excellent; we have food allergies, and the restaurant staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. Our assistance dog was given a toy on arrival - it's definitely recommended for people wanting to take their dog on holiday with them. We had a stunning sea view from our room too - the beach is literally less than 5 minutes away. We will be back - nothing but praise for this lovely place."
