NOT Cute, Quaint, or Pleasant!
We booked a room at the last minute and, while the online reviews seemed okay, the actual rooms left a lot to be desired. We found mold on the ceiling and pubic hair, long hairs of various colors, and dog fur on all the sheets. The pillows were stained and smelled like an old vacuum cleaner, and the refrigerator was dirty. The mattress we slept on was an old spring mattress. We had to go to the Publix around the corner to get disinfectant and shower cleaner. I would not recommend this hotel.

Magic experience
Unit was clean, however, carpet was old thus dirt compacted into it. Floor was uneven, like padding was messed up or something. Was also hard to keep temperature stable. TV was also erratic, meaning signal was interruptive every few minutes. And finally, pillows were flat and hard to get a good sleeping experience.

Comfy but in need of handicapped parking
Wonderful Jamaican woman warmly welcomed is. Only drawback not much handicapped parking. Travelling with two disabled sons alone, that made it a bit hard.

Great location...old room that needs some TLC.
Magic Beach Motel has an excellent location. Right by the beach and nice little shopping district. The motel needs some TLC. Our room didn't look like what we saw in the pictures with cool murals and funky vibe. Our room needed a coat of paint and some maintenance. The cupboards were coming loose, there was mold around the vent hood, spills of something on the walls, and patch jobs that weren't painted over. The room looked dingy. There were two chairs and a little table in the room. Functional but not comfortable. This was not a room you felt you could relax in. The cleanliness was ok...I think the maintenance issues made it seem unclean but it was really more dingy or uncared for. The location is great and it could really be amazing with some paint and TLC. I bet it was super cute in its prime! Overall...I wouldn't stay here again unless they made some updates.

Nice location, but...
It's about 100 yards to the beach and only a few miles to St. Augustine very good location. Our room was # 116. The bed was comfortable, it had a microwave and a kitchen sink which was nice. The room is a little worn out but if it was clean that would be ok it smells really musty. The worst thing was the dirty floor...really dirty, the little table was dirty and the shower had mold around the perimeter at the base as well as the bathroom door. It's too bad that all it really needs is a good cleaning. For that reason we wouldn't come back. There's no excuse for the cleanliness issue.

It’s just tired looking.
It is so tired looking. Needs a coat of paint. Kitchen had no spoons, forks one plate and a very small refrigerator. Had to ask for a toaster. Was walking distance to the beach.

Updates
Nice place, but they really need to fix how those windows are built because the light comes in soon. As the Sun comes up, the cleaning could have been a lot better as well, but it was nice overall but it needs some serious updates. I think they charge quite a bit for a place that needs a lot of updates

Comfortable Nostalgia
I loved the quiet, beachy feel of Magic Beach. It made me feel connected to simpler times and the beach vacations our parents and grandparents used to take. It was nice to park right in front of our room and get to things very easily. We had a kitchen which was a plus. The room itself was quiet and comfortable. The beds were perfect. Every day, we walked out the door to the beach just steps to the east. There is a view of the lighthouse and island just past the large rocks. There is a perfect view of the lighthouse shining at night, from the beach or a paved parking spot along the causeway. If you have four wheel drive, you can even drive and park on the sand. We drove across the bridge to downtown and all of the sights. There is so much to do within a few minutes of the hotel. We will be back!

Perfect
Was perfect. Right on the water. Nostalgic gem. They went above and beyond to accommodate us traveling with a boat.
