Close to shops, clean, comfortable, and staff were responsive.
7-night trip

Service was excellent by the staffs, we had a faulty A/C and they immidiately moved us to another room.

If ur coming to Darwin this is the place to stay clean location location very affordable I give it a 9 plus out of 10

The front building of the DCH looked amazing, however, I was to stay in the "back" property. Cigarette smoke and stale alcohol smell filled the entire building, people were drunk and yelling. I felt very unsafe even entering the car park of the building. Had a bit of a panic attack so drove back around to the front building and let the reception know I couldn't stay there. They did offer me to stay in the front building, which looked lovely, however, I chose to move motels to one I knew.

It was value for money. Clean and basic. All I needed to short stay.
2-night trip

6/10

Room stunk of cigarette smoke but apart from that was a good place to stay
3-night trip

6/10

There was load bangs from the doors closing and I could other guests talking in the hallway late into the night.

4/10

Location to street and restaurant good, but very noisy with night clubs close by. Cheap room equals not frills little service
3-night trip

4/10

The location is easily the best of any hotel in the CBD but the accommodation is in need of modernisation. The doors are not sound proof, the rooms not cleaned to an even basic standard, and the mattress (room 28) is in dire need of replacement. But for the price, location, convenience and the pool it’s a good option for the budget travellers.
2-night trip

6/10

Rooms closest to Mitchell St are noisy due to the location of the pubs/venues until about 2am.
2-night trip

6/10

The annex is not connected to the hotel. There s no reception desk nor any oversight, hence the annex is terribly noisy.?Constant shoutings, load music, banging doors. Not a very solidly built annex, you hear everything. Bed was substandard, room minute. I suppose the main DCH is far better? This booking was a real let-down. A shocker!

Very disappointed super small and below average
4-night trip

My bathroom was dirty and had insects upon arrival.
3-night trip

6/10

Wotif address is incorrect, so I was dropped with 40kg of baggage a few hundred meters from the actual entrance. The place overall is good enough for the price if you need somewhere to rest your head, but my sheets weren’t clean, there were black spots and stains all over them and fake eyelashes literally everywhere, so I slept on my towels for the few hours I was there for before heading back to the airport.

Ok
1-night trip

8/10

Room not made up, old towels and bed slept in, unmade.
5-night trip

2/10

The picture on wotif is misleading. It's from the main hotel but there's another building across a laneway which used to be 'Value Hotel' and is like the youth hostel opposite it. Rooms so minute it's difficult to get to the other side of the bed; bathroom so tiny only 1 person can be fit and still very squeezy; no table or chairs. Our complaint moved us to the main building, room a little bigger but the very last one next to the lane. Sleep was disturbed by the exit door to the lane and loud voices and loud car noises outside every night. Make sure you're booked in the main hotel on Smith St.

The property was unique. It had no supplementary furniture. No toilet paper holder. No towel racks. No bedside tables. I did not get new soap for the week. I cleaned my own bins. I don’t believe I had a linen change.

i liked the central location but that was all. When i arrived at 1:00am i discovered that the cold water tap in the shower did not work. When i reported this in the morning i was told that it could either be repaired during the day or i could move rooms. I could not move immediately though because they were fully booked. i asked if it could be repaired and could i be contacted when this was done so i could return to have a shower as i had been travelling for over 24 hours. I was not contacted during the day. When i returned in the afternoon i asked at reception if repairs had been done and i was told that the shower had been checked and that there was no problem found. Somewhat bewildered, i went to my room and got into the shower to discover that it was exactly the same as previously. The cold tap was turned full on and no water was coming out which i suspect was how i'd left it in the morning. I went back to reception and was offered no apology or any recompense and merely told that they could now change my room. The room i was moved to had large holes in the flyscreen and cigarettes butts on the inside window sill. if i had been staying in darwin longer i would have left then and there but as i was leaving the next morning i saw no point. i would definitely not recommend this dive.

Its clean, central accommodation. Access during roadworks is hard to find but once you know, its ok. Compact, clean rooms. Comfortable bed.
