Clayton Hotel Cardiff

Clayton Hotel Cardiff

10/10 Excellent
"Having arranged to meet friends in Cardiff and not knowing the city, we opted to stay at The Clayton, very close to the station. The hotel far exceeded our expectations and couldn’t fault it. The rooms were clean, quiet, bed very comfortable and with all the facilities one could need. All the hotel staff were polite and helpful. The breakfast was good as was the main menu. An excellent short break in a perfect location."

Future Inns Cardiff Bay

Future Inns Cardiff Bay

10/10 Excellent
"Room was a good size. Plenty of free on site car parking. Only a few min9r niggles which detracted from an otherwise good experience. No shower gel on first night, nut was replenished the next day, as we're the facial tissues box which was all but empty on arrival. No mini fridge in room, but maybe I set my expectations too high. Window glass was very dirty but being a 5th floor room understand they can't be cleaned daily but looked like they hadn't been cleaned for weeks if not months. TV had basic channels but not all buttons on the remote control were in working order so a little difficult to navigate."

The Parkgate Hotel

The Parkgate Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"From entering the hotel we had a feeling of relaxation and every member of staff who we met was very welcoming. When checking in, the staff were very friendly and as well as providing all the information we needed, our room was also ready ahead of time. This was very well appointed, very clean and overlooked the Principality Stadium. We arrived at the restaurant for our prearranged Sunday lunch, and had to wait a little while to be seated. Our server was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Once we arrived back in the evening, we went to the bar for a drink and the barman, as with the other staff, was very friendly and informative. We checked-out just before the required time and despite the receptionist being very courteous, professional and helpful, we didn't find him as friendly as other staff members. However, this didn't deter our overall very pleasant experience. Thank you and we look forward to returning."

Park Plaza Cardiff

Park Plaza Cardiff

8/10 Good
"I’ve been staying at this hotel since 2010, and it’s always been our go‑to place when visiting Cardiff. We’ve loved it for so long that even our now 11 year old looks forward to staying here. The staff are consistently helpful, the location is ideal, and the facilities have always contributed to a really enjoyable stay. However, this is the first visit where I’ve felt the hotel is overdue for a refurbishment. The rooms and bathrooms are showing their age, and the spa facilities in particular need attention. The changing rooms look very tired, and the rainfall shower experience is barely functioning. One additional point, although not the hotel’s fault, is the walk from the city centre. The area now has a large number of homeless individuals, and while I understand the complexity of the issue, it did make the walk back feel uncomfortable when I was alone with my son in the late evening."

The Great House Hotel & Restaurant

The Great House Hotel & Restaurant

8/10 Good
"The hotel is situated on a main road just outside of Bridgend. The building is rustic with a quaint charm that puts you instantly at ease. The lady on reception was really warm and helpful. My room was lovely and clean and the bathroom had both a shower and deep soak bath. The bed has this amazing mattress which was so soft that it enveloped you like a marshmallow and provided one of th best night's sleep I have had in a long while. Breakfast was cooked perfectly with ingredients of a quality you can tell they are locally sourced. The only drawbacks were I couldn't get the shower to provide hot water but the bath took care of that and the lock on the door got stuck meaning it was difficult to leave the room at times and could provide a hazard in the vent of a fire. Otherwise it was an idyllic stay."

With the potential for lower prices during these months, it’s a fantastic choice for those seeking great value for money.

Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool via the app allows travellers to compare hotel prices and amenities, so if rooms become available or prices drop, you'll be promptly informed to secure a last-minute getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may vary depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and time of year, so being flexible with your dates could help you save on your stay in a Bridgend hotel. For those seeking distinctive experiences, boutique hotels might offer a more personalised touch and sometimes better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we may suggest more affordable dates to help you potentially find a better deal.
  4. Consider your location: Staying near major attractions or city centres may offer convenience, but it usually comes with a higher price tag. For more affordable options, consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, balancing cost with ease of access to the places you intend to visit. You might also explore independent hotels further afield, which can provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
