"The staff is very helpful and welcoming. The location is great. The kumano kodo trail is right behind it. This onsen town will be amazing to visit in winter, it was too bad that we were there in summer!"
Grand Mercure Wakayama Minabe Resort & Spa
"Good"
Shirahama Key Terrace Seamore Residence
"Wished there was an elevator for our luggage in the annex building Key 1. Otherwise spacious and clean. Didn’t have time for breakfast but saw and smelled the delicious bread and pastries. Can view bread making from windows hotel entrance"
Shiraraso Grand Hotel
"Being able to walk on the beach in 20 seconds is an absolute dream! We had such a wonderful stay here and Shirahama is such a cute town! The hotel was wonderful for our family of 4 with kids sleeping on traditional futons and two large twins available for us! There are partitions to separate the rooms. My only slight issue was wanting the futon room to be more blackout as the sun rises early! The housekeeping doesn’t clean everyday but they do drop off amenities. The hotel breakfast was wonderful highly recommend the buffet as most places aren’t open early."
Watarase Onsen Hotel Yamayuri
"My husband and I stayed one night and we had an amazing time. The onsen was spacious, clean, very comfortable, a beautiful scenery of nature. It was an absolute delight. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, cozy, very cute and we'll equipped. The dinner was the best meal we have had in Japan. Absolutely delicious! There was so much work into every bite, great flavor, beautiful presentation, amazing attention from the staff. We absolutely enjoyed our stay, the onsen, the dinner, everything. Simply perfect!"
Hotel Urashima
"This is our second stay at Hotel Urashima. They've changed ownership so there is a difference in checking in There are stand alone Kiosk to check in. Not so personal. We usually get 1/2 board which is buffet breakfast and buffet dinner. Both breakfast and dinner have several pre dinner cooking devices that you cook your fish or vegetables. Breakfast could be improved. My favorite is the variety of onsens and the cave grottto is my favorite. There is also a shiatsu massage service."

- Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on various factors, such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates could help you save on your stay at a hotel in Tanabe. For those seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised touch and can occasionally offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher end, we’ll suggest alternative dates that may be more affordable, helping you find a better deal.
- Consider your location: Staying nearer to major attractions or city centres may offer convenience, but it often comes with a higher price tag. For more affordable options, you might consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between cost and accessibility to the sites you wish to visit. Exploring independent hotels located a bit further out can also provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience, as they usually tend to be cheaper.
