I don't typically spend $400/night for a room, but splurged, and was so very disappointed. This was not what I had expected. The lobby was inviting and all looked promising until I went to my "prestige" room. The hall was small, the base boards & carpet dirty, and there was "stuff" leaning against the walls. It was pitch black when I opened the door and the room deodorizer overwhelming. It smelled so bad I couldn't stay. I booked through Expedia, so no refund, and I was stuck for 5 nights!
I was ready to loose the money, but hotel space was scarce and I was exhausted. The room pictured on the website was available, and thankfully It had less scent. Staff gave me control of the AC to filter the air. It was slightly bigger than the first room, clean and the bed great. There was little space to put anything and the soap smelled like the deodorizer.
I stayed the week before for $200/night in the Minerve Hotel, with a more comfortable room.
Now that I know what to expect, I would return, but not at the "prestige" price. I would request no scent and no soap, and I would pack very light. The staff was friendly, and the location despite a next door cannabis shop turned out to be a great neighborhood.
