This was a great place to stay for a few days. Kitchens were a great amenity for the room so we didn’t have to eat out every meal. Everything was clean and nice! staff was very accommodating.

It was a great stay and would recommend it. Clean rooms and great mini kitchenette. The breakfast is good but long lines to get hot food. Pet friendly, great rooms, and had a great experience.

Newly hotel. Having shared pool with another Marriot Hotel but the pool is large and not much ppl, so you can enjoy the swimming and sun there. The free breakfast is normal, you can enjoy the coffee even it's our of breakfast time. Overall we had the great time here and we recommend this hotel.

Clean room comfortable and relaxing. The only downside is there is no local bar at the hotel so you have to drive out to relax.

6/10 Good

I’ve stayed at an Element property in another city before and had an amazing experience, so I was looking forward to this stay. This one is brand new and very clean, but overall, my stay was just okay. The hotel is in a convenient location, especially if you have a car. They offer complimentary breakfast, plus coffee & tea throughout the day. It’s also pet friendly ($150 fee/stay). That said, we stayed on the 2nd floor, and the tram is directly next to the hotel. We could see it from our window and were low enough to see the rail cables from bed when the tram passed. You can definitely hear it, so I’d recommend requesting a higher floor or a room away from the tram side if you’re sensitive to noise. I also believe there’s a laundry room on the same floor because we could hear the machines running. Parking is available ($38/night), but it fills up later at night, and the remaining spots are limited and very compact. The room itself was clean, but there were some poor design choices. The lamp next to the bed required standing up and reaching behind the bed to turn it on or off. The TV also kept turning off randomly during the day (maybe it was a cross-signal issue with another room). The check-in experience wasn’t particularly warm. When I mentioned we prepaid for parking online, the associate made a face and asked how much I paid, but didn’t explain why. Overall, it’s clean and convenient, but the noise, parking, room design, and service kept it from being great.

Room was nice except mattress on pull out couch is very thin and when asked for a topper for mattress they said they were out. Never followed up throughout 3 night stay.

6/10 Good

Very disappointed in the Bonvoy Group for what is clearly premature opening of a new hotel. The hotel is 3 weeks old as of month end 6/26. Still too many things don’t work. Room on the first day: AC could not be controlled, TV didn’t work. Room on the second day: bedside lights and electrical outlets don’t work (too tired to move again). Staff very enthusiastic and helpful, facilities all brand new. But still too many kinks to work out. Will be a nice place when it all settles, but for now too many inconveniences to justify the price tag.

The hotel tower is excellent and very clean which I appreciate but the parking spots are ridiculously small I drove a sports car there and it has a wider body and the property parking spaces can barely fit a compact car! Something needs to be done about this asap it’s ridiculous.

We had issues with the air conditioning in the room and had to move 2 times. It was either freezing or not working.
Verified review

6/10 Good

We had trouble with check in. Once we finally received our keys, neither worked and we had to return to the desk to get another set. The hotel bar had no alcohol, only beer and wine. The AC didn’t work. An engineer was sent and said it was fixed, but it wasn’t. Hotel Did not offer a room change, only credit for the parking. Seriously disappointed.

As a former San Diego resident I was aware of homelessness in downtown in the past but this location in Mission Valley is terrible. Avoid this location!!! At this price point for a Marriott branded hotel I could not believe how pathetic breakfast was. Not only very little selection but when I asked the cook if I could get scrambled eggs instead of the green vegetable mess with an over fried egg on top he looked at me like I was crazy. Also parking is ridiculous at $38 a day fortunately the hotels.com app had a low priced deal. Overall I will not stay in any Mission Valley hotel again.
