Excellent stay! Check in and check out was a breeze. Friendly staff. Great room. Small but bathroom was large and plenty of storage space. Perfect location. Close to Metro and Buses. Lots of cafes nearby. Neighborhood street market right around the corner. Neighborhood was quiet and very safe both day and night. Would absolutely stay there again and refer Villa Montparnasse to others visiting Paris.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. It was comfortable, and the balcony was nice. Rooms are small in France, but ours was a superior size so a little more space I like the location a lot, it was far enough from touristy areas, but close enough to get around plenty of cafés in the area, and small places to shop. From what I can see with other hotels in the area, this provided all that we needed. My husband says the rooms are “cozy”, not really family size but perfect for us a great place to spend our 40th anniversary.

They provide me room 710 and it was right next to elevator. There was constant niise from the elevator with some wierd sound I could not sleep at all. I complained and they said " i know elevator needs a part to fix"

Le personnel est extrêmement gentil et serviable. La localisation est top. L’hôtel est ok mais pas rénové depuis un certain temps, ça brille moins que sur les photos (mais c’est propre). Si vous cherchez du flambant neuf aux normes du jour passez votre chemin. Vous serez plus à votre place si vous aimez le charme de l’ancien .

Ikke særlig serviceminded personale. Da vi kom kl. 15.00 skulle værelset først tjekkes, og vi måtte vente et kvarter. Da vi kom op opdagede vi at toiletbrættet var knækket (det var ikke til at overse). Vi fik et nyt værelse med det samme, men generelt var hotellet gammelt og slidt. Gardinet sad løst i den ene side, der var ikke en prop i badekarret (hvad skal man så med et badekar), håndklædevarmer virkede ikke, aircon kunne kun blæse kold luft og generelt var værelset slidt og absolut ikke pengene værd. Morgenmaden var enkel, nærmest spartansk - og heller ikke pengene værd.

Nous nous sommes demandé comment ils ont obtenus leur 4 étoiles ... Propreté qui laisse vraiment à désirer, murs cassés, moquette tachée, poils dans les draps,... Des prestations pas à la hauteur d'un 2 étoiles. Une deuxième étage inatteignable en ascenseur, il faut aller au 1er ou 3eme et descendre car le bouton est cassé. Une climatisation HS remplacée par des ventilateurs. Et une réponse à notre mécontentement inexistante, quand nous disons à l'équipe que nous ne sommes pas satisfaits très ... Surprenante : "Nous comprenons que vous ayez été déçus"

Very good hotel.

Great little hotel well located in the southern Paris suburbs. The main thing I liked was the welcome I received from the concierge, who made me feel like a valued customer from the moment I stepped into the building. Rooms are small, but were perfectly adequate for me, and had everything I needed (the fan was a godsend!). The hotel is also a five-minute stroll from the Denfert-Rocheau Metro stop which takes you right into the heart of the city, and a RER rail station is a couple of minutes further on which links directly to Gare du Nord, so perfect for anyone using Eurostar. Between these stops and the hotel are a number of good bars and restaurants, so everything I wanted was nearby.

Lidt gammelt, men rent og godt værelse

Jeg var glad for at få en rigtig dobbeltseng, selvom jeg rejste solo. Jeg havde ønsket karbad, og det fik jeg. Det var jeg meget glad for. Hotellet er ældre og noget slidt, men meget rent. Min bruser havde et meget lavt tryk, og det sammenholdt med, at den var placeret i en dårlig vinkel fra væggen til karbadet, gjorde det svært at tage et ordentlig brusebad. Hvis mit ophold havde varet længere, havde jeg påtalt dette. Personalet var enormt søde, og gav mig en vand, da jeg manglede, lod mig oplade min mobil efter check ud samt opbevarede min kuffert det meste af dagen. Hotellet er centralt i forhold til RER og metro, men alligevel er stykke fra centrum. Jeg gik hjem en aften fra Avenue Denfert-Rochereau (mener jeg), som næsten var mørkelagt. Det var uhyggeligt og kan ikke anbefales som enlig kvinde.

Front staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was confortable. Cleaning staff did the minimal. The building and rooms are overdue for a upgrade, small things like filling the window flower boxes would go a long way.

Broken air conditioning

Everything was fine, except it was not posted that the hotel (on hotels.com) that the air conditioning was broken and had been since the beginning of summer. This was a major issue. This is extremely unacceptable. A very recent review noted this as well. We would have cancelled and booked another hotel. I will be finally a claim for a refund for our two rooms.

Comfortable, Quiet Hotel in a Great Location

Overall, a nice hotel in a great location that is close to many shops, restaurants, and the metro station. The staff were particularly helpful with check-in process and helping me carry all of the bags. We did have an issue with the hot water going out on several days while we were there. The bathroom could stand an update, but the room was comfortable and clean. The staff and location of the hotel were the highlights.

No Air Conditioning!

Front desk attendant was very kind & helpful. Unfortunately, AC is broken and has been broken since the beginning of the summer (Summer 2025) -- which was a huge reason we chose the hotel so was very disappointing.

The location and price of this hotel worked for us. We were able to get to the city center by riding the M4 metro line each day. The neighborhood is a mix of residential with one vital street that has many restaurants where prices are lower than the central tourist areas. It is right next to the Catacombs (closed due to staffing during our 4-day stay), and you can walk to Luxembourg Gardens. Shortcomings were that the breakfast was sparse for the price, rooms are small, and there is virtually no common area — usually a feature in hotels with very small rooms. Housekeepers did a good job, but carpet is so old that it is permanently dirty/dusty. The 90+ degree temperatures while we were there emphasized the lack of air conditioning (common in Paris). If the hotel has a four-star rating, that is a bit misleading. In any case, we worked around all these things and enjoyed our trip.

Location was perfect. Room was a bit small, but I would say standard for France. Two reasons for low rating: 1 - air conditioning was not working (and it was quite hot the days we were there), and 2 - hair dryer was cracked and only partially functional (you could change the heat setting but there was no way to change the air flow level)
