Taj Cape Town
"I've stayed at The Taj many times, this time was a different purpose as I had a medical procedure to undergo. I wanted to know I could recuperate afterwards in a hotel where I would have a spotless clean and quiet room, plenty of space, great amenities, full blackout curtains, comfortable bed, choice of pillows, and having great staff on hand to take care of whatever I would need in my stay. Knowing I would not really leave my room for a few days I need a great room. All of this I got, and great in-room dining. I was able to enjoy the J-Wellness spa before I had my procedure which was great for being relaxed and ready for that. As ever The Taj and the wonderful staff who work there really excelled at making it a great experience. I will be back soon."
Kenzi Rose Garden
"Everything was great! Pools were nice, only thing is food is super repetitive and even if you paid for your buffet you’re not allowed to fill up your water bottle while it’s 40+ degrees out and I thought that was a bit bizarre. It’s just water."
Sarova Panafric Hotel, Nairobi Upper Hill
"Good"
Le Riad Monceau
"This Riad does not disappoint. An excellent location with which to explore the old city. Fabulous food, accomodation and amazing staff. Would highly recommend."
Hôtel & Ryads Barrière Le Naoura
"Great staff!"
Sarova Stanley Hotel, Nairobi
"Very thoughtful and warm hospitality. They even surprised me with a birthday cake while the staff sang beautiful birthday song for me. They are the best. Thank you Sarova Stanley"
Hivernage Hotel And Spa
"5 stars all round for this hotel. Good breakfast and spacious clean rooms. Location was perfect, in the nicer area of Marrakech and within walking distance to the main areas. Service was impeccable and staff go out of their way to help make the stay comfortable. I informed hotel about a birthday, They set up the room with flowers and treats to make the day special! Thank you to guest relations manager for making it extra memorable. Will deffo book at this hotel when visiting Marrakech again!"
Novotel Marrakech Hivernage
"Nice hotel and nice location"
Marrakech Riads, Angsana Heritage Collection
"Pour notre 1er voyage à Marrakech ce Riad nous a complètement charmé. Il est à la fois très beau, très agréable, bien placé pour les visites de la médina et le personnel y a été agréable. Les petits déjeuners typiques et variés proposés tous les matins sont très bons et le dîner au restaurant était également délicieux ! Nous y reviendrons avec plaisir."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Africa
- Book for the cheapest times: For travellers seeking an affordable adventure in Africa on a budget, May, June, and September offer great value for money with lower prices on hotels. A stay of at least 3 days is ideal to explore key landmarks, historical sites, cultural attractions, and natural wonders. During these months, hotel rates could drop, making it a budget-friendly opportunity to experience Africa's rich heritage and stunning landscapes without compromising on quality.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: Hotels.com offers visitors a chance to explore great deals for hotel Africa. You may discover discounted rates by visiting the DealsOpens in a new window section, where you might also find last-minute bargains. For urgent travel plans, check the Last-Minute Deals area, ensuring you're alerted to any flash sales. Additionally, the Smart Shopping comparison tool available via the app could help travellers compare hotel prices and amenities, keeping you updated on price changes and availability. This way, you're more likely to see opportunities to save while planning your next escape.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may differ depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your dates could help you save on your stay in an Africa hotel. For those seeking unique experiences, boutique hotels may offer a more personalised touch and sometimes even greater value. When you book with Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average, and if it appears to be on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could help you find a better deal.
- Consider your location: Staying in the heart of major cities in Africa certainly provides the advantage of convenience, as it places you in close proximity to local attractions and vibrant cultural experiences. However, this prime location is often accompanied by higher prices. In contrast, smaller towns and rural areas are generally more likely to be affordable, allowing for a more budget-conscious stay. For those seeking better rates, opting for accommodation slightly outside the city centre can be a wise choice, although it may necessitate a bit of extra travel to reach key sights. Alternatively, exploring nearby cities can uncover a wealth of attractions while also offering a range of more budget-friendly lodging options.
