Firstly I informed the hotel on the night of my arrival that due to the time it took for me to get through customs at JFK Airport, I wouldn't be able to attend the hotel until about 7am. It was my first time in New York City and Newark and didn't want to pay for a taxi from New York City to the hotel in Newark, as i was quoted $120 this was at 1:30 am so I had to wait for the next transit bus which left at 6:15 in the morning.
I fininaly arrived at the hotel at 7am and explained what happened at the airport and that I had booked and paid for five nights accommodation not four and wanted to get a refund on an extension of my stay. The receptionist 'Richard' told me to inform the manager whom would be in after nine o'clock that morning !
I was very tired and had jetlag, I slept in all day, the next morning I spoke to the manager and informed her about my situation at the airport and that I would like to get an extension or a refund for the nights accommodation I didn't stay, she said "I can't do anything as it wasn't my fault or the hotels, it was your responsibility to check-in and your booking is non-refundable, if you want to stay longer you are welcome to pay extra" I also asked her is I could get some clean towels and have the room cleaned, but they only service the rooms once every three days !
There is no breakfast option and I found cockroachs in the room and bathroom, to add to all this the coffee machine wasn't working !
Avoided if possible, very unclean and bad!
