Limited Parking & No AC
Didn’t have the best experience with parking. They are limited on parking so go early. We got there at 7pm and there were no parking left. Front desk had no clue about street parking and the closest parking garages. It was a busy weekend so everyone was fighting to get in parking garages that were all FULL. After almost an hour and no luck, we decided to just park on the street and move it to a parking garage before 2am so we don’t get towed/ticketed. 😓 Room was decent but there’s no AC. We can open the window but there’s no screen and it was loud outside. Walls are thin so you can hear people talking and walking out in the hallway in the am.

Small Bathroom - Hot Room
Checked in and the room was clean and nice BUT extremely hot. No air conditioning. Tried to call front desk 5 times before I went down and asked for a fan. Lobby was ridiculously hot also. Front desk agent had 2 fans pointed on him and gave me one. Even with fan, room was at least 80 degrees. Bed was comfortable but due to heat, I tossed and turned all night. Bathroom was extremely small. Room was clean. Staff I encountered was very friendly and helpful.

They took my security deposit out 4 times! They took 800 dollars from me and told me I have to wait 3-5 business days to get it back. It’s really frustrating because that was money I was supposed to use for my trip.

The queen bed standard room is quite a bit small. Not much room for your luggage so you end up putting it on the ground and it makes it hard to move around. There is also no sink in the bathroom so you have to end up outside in the main room to wash your hands. Again, small rooms. Not much place to put your things on the counter around the sink they provide by the door, and you end up having your drinks and stuff there too and it is just way too small. It’s alright but wouldn’t recommend for 2 people. We won’t go back. They also had hidden fees beyond hotels.com and it was almost an extra hundred. Super lame. Staff didn’t even do anything for us for them to charge all these extra fees. Ridiculous.

My wife and I stayed on this property years ago when it was the Britton. What a difference now! Such an excellent redo. The rooms are a bit plain but very nice. Larger also. They are SO CLEAN! Amenities and towels are very nice. The bed is SO COMFORTABLE! The entire facility is spotless, even the outside is well-maintained. Having security is a comfortable feeling with all the street folks wanting to camp out. It's an odd mix out there but we never felt threatened walking around. Every member of your staff from front desk to security and housekeeping were just plain awesome. Every single person employed at Garrett was so nice, friendly, helpful. professional and fun to visit with. All make us guests feel very welcome. The breakfast bar in the morning was a big hit with us, the pastries, fruit and coffee were perfect. Great way to start the day. Suggestions to improve an already great experience. We were in Room 325. 1. A hand towel rack by the sink. 2. A table in the bathroom to put clothes, etc. on for after shower. 3. A small table on right between closet and bathroom door. 4. Leaves something to be desired
Description on hotels.com website said parking available but when we arrived it was “first come first served” with no parking available and no way to reserve spots for subsequent days. Closest parking was a 5 to 10 minute walk for double the price that we would’ve paid to park at the hotel.Tough neighborhood. Lots of litter and unhoused individuals around. Room was very, very warm with no way to adjust the temperature. Cramped room with few amenities (no fridge or microwave). Pool is across the street at another hotel so not sure why the amenities fee charged at the hotel. Breakfast was only pastries, fruit, and coffee each day that often ran out ahead of ending time. Hotel was clean overall but would not stay here again.
