You're truly spoiled for choice when it comes to casinos, but Aquarius Casino Resort is among the most popular. In addition to a bewildering array of gaming options, there's also an impressive outdoor amphitheater which regularly plays host to some of the biggest names in rock and pop. Big Bend State Recreation Area is a beautiful riverside park, which is home to an amazing abundance of animal and birdlife. There are also scenic walking trails, shaded picnic areas, and a modern campsite with good facilities. The nearby Black Mountains are one of the region's star natural attractions, offering challenging hikes and utterly spectacular views. Laughlin Outlet Center is a shopper's paradise, with over 50 stores selling top designer and brand names at bargain prices. You'll also find a huge, state-of-the-art multiplex cinema, and some seriously tempting dining options. The Colorado River Historical Society and Museum brings the region's rich history to life with its eclectic collection of fascinating items, which include a 240 million-year-old fossil and Mojave Tribe artifacts.

While you won't find palatial 5 star resorts to rival those in Las Vegas, hotels in Laughlin are generously equipped with great facilities, and offer exceptional value for money. You'll also find a number of smart, modern motels, operated by leading international chains. Where to stay

Most of Laughlin's hotels are located on Casino Drive, which offers stunning views of the Colorado River. On this main strip you'll also find glitzy shopping malls, decadent cocktail lounges, and restaurants serving everything from spicy Tex-Mex to gourmet seafood. There's a wealth of accommodation options in neighboring Bullhead City, which sits on the opposite side of the river. Here you'll find some fascinating museums, beautiful state parks, and yet more delectable dining options. Outdoor enthusiasts may want to consider staying in nearby Needles. This beautiful city boasts sandy riverside beaches, a top class golf course, and a fantastic aquatic center.

How to get to Laughlin

Laughlin-Bullhead International Airport receives regular flights from many US cities, including Minneapolis, Seattle, and Dallas, plus seasonal flights from Canadian destinations such as Toronto, Calgary, and Edmonton. Car hire is available at the airport, and from here you can reach the town in under 10 minutes. If you're traveling from overseas, Laughlin is around 90 minutes by car from McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas.
