The staff was absolutely lovely at Amaia. I was running very late for my reservation and they waited up. It is clean, cute, and the pool area is adorable. The room itself was comfortable, but there are two things to note. 1) My room had no window. I was surprised by this, and it seems it's legal in Mexico but during COVID and as a general fire hazard and a life necessity... if I had any choice late at night that day, I'd have moved right away. Second, the hotel is right on the town square and it is LOUD (even without a window!), so bring ear plugs.

Hidden gem
Look no further. This is the perfect hotel with the perfect location in sayulita. Fernando greeted us like family, and made the check in experience fantastic. Great hotel in a great town. Highly recommend it and would only stay there again next time in sayulita.

Incredible location. Within a stones throw of literally everything you could possibly need in the city. Street tacos are prepared fresh at your front steps when you walk out the front door. Would definitely recommend! Only bummer was that the indoor shower didn’t drain, so we couldn’t really take a proper shower. We didn’t come here to shower, so it didn’t bother us much. Also, the only other complaint is that they failed to mention there was a club blasting music 7 feet above our heads, which also was a surprise. I’m a deep sleeper so it didn’t bother me much after I fell asleep full of tacos and tequila.

Poor 2.0
First, the good things: Fernando and staff are gracious hosts and the property itself, while small is quite lovely. HOWEVER, the property sits directly below a nightclub that blasts 80-90's top 40 hits at teeth chattering volume. To compound matters, there is construction work happening on either side of the hotel. So, loud music from 11-2ish AM and construction work starting around 7. My experience was so bad that I left after one night. In addition to peace and quiet, there was also an absence of any basic amenities. The owners need to decide what product they are offering: surf party hotel or boutique.

My friend and I had the best stay at Amaia. It’s a perfect and cozy place in a great location. The people are awesome and the service is great. We highly recommend it.

Fair 4.0
The location of the hotel is next to a club so there is loud music until 2:00am plus when we stayed some people tought it was ok to stay and party on the pool until 5:30am.

Absolutely had a great experience!! I checked in last minute. Fernando the Host greeted me with a handshake and hug, (as if we’ve been friends for years). The Hotel was clean and the beds were comfortable. I only stayed on night and regret not booking longer. DC

Hotel Amaia is new to Sayulita, but it's going to become very popular very soon. THE BEST BED IN MEXICO, HANDS DOWN! For those of you that aren't into the super firm mattresses this is the place for you! And the pool is heated! This property is in the center of town, really convenient and my new #1 choice in Sayulita.

The hotel was fine. Next to the town square. Warm swimming pool. Rooms are small, clean, but functional. Cordial staff. However, there is a VERY loud bar on the top floor of the hotel that plays bed-moving rock music from 10 pm until 3am at the top of their speakers' volume. If one wants a hotel for sleeping, don't book this one. We paid for 4 nights and moved out after 3.
