Exceeds expectations!
The bed was comfortable, and the cold air con was refreshing from the September heat. The staff was really kind and helpful. We were having issues transferring our luggage to another hotel and the staff really helped us figure out a solution.

Wonderful property with amazing service within walking distance of all the shopping and tourism you could ask for. The hotel was undergoing renovations as we stayed but not once was it intrusive or made to lessen our experience. The rooms are old and the age shows, but again the hotel is mid renovation. I fully plan to return once its completed! The staff were kind and helpful and the area around the hotel is so quiet youd never expect to be right by the hustle and bustle.

Transportation (local buses) are accessible where we stayed at and hotel exterior and interior are traditional, which my friend and I enjoyed.

What? No bidet?
It is disappointing that our toilet did not have a bidet because Japan is known for its hi-tech toilets. While the room had a heater, the toilet was very cold especially the floor which makes taking a bath very uncomfortable

One of the few hotels in Japan where we weren't treated in a racist way. Kind and helpful staff, clean rooms, nice public bath and in a quiet area, not too far away from Shibuya.

10/10 Exceptional

The staff here are so friendly and the room is clean and beautiful. We stayed in a room with tatami floors and futons and our own bathroom. There is a bus stop nearby, but still very walkable to the nearest metro station. It is also not too far from the center of Shibuya! A very comfortable stay.

We had an amazing stay here. The owner and his son helped us so much while we were here. We chose to stay in the Japanese traditional room and it was honestly the best sleep we got on our whole trip. I can't recommend this place enough. Definitely consider staying here!

Super quiet small property with friendly staff. We liked the more traditional lodging for our short stay in Tokyo. The neighborhood is busy but you don't hear any of it at the property even though the main busy street is around the corner.

I really enjoyed the traditional japanese aesthetic, it was small but made up for in scenery. They provided free water in the lobby and had daily housecleaning. The staff was super friendly always welcoming us and saying have a great day when we left. I would reccomend for a cheaper option, its fairly close to shibuya crossings.

The staff were so kind and helpful. They spoke enough English for me to feel comfortable asking questions. Th rooms were very clean. They were doing some construction but they were reasonable about the times and let us know in advance. The construction was never a bother. I loved this hotel and would go back.

The room was quaint and gave the feel of a traditional Japanese experience with tatami mat floors and comfy futon mattresses. The hotel staff was very helpful, kind and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Happy with everything

10/10 Exceptional

Quaint, Comfortable and convenient. Japanese style
My first room wasn't particularly to my liking so they changed me to a different room and even offered to bring my luggage to the new room. That was really nice and and I was more than prepared to do it myself. The hotel staff mainly speak Japanese, so for the average person I would recommend having google translate on your phone; for the more worldly travellers (or huge fans of Japanese culture) you are going to have a great time conversing with them in Japanese. I cannot stress how friendly they are. The hotel's location might feel a bit out of the way, but the truth is it's perfect. It's RIGHT next to a bus terminal so you can get to Shibuya station easily; plus there's a lot of things within walking distance. Perfect placement

We found a cockroach in our room, wich wasn't good. Alittle bit noisy. But the place and the people attending us were lovely

This is such a special place and it gives you a little taste of traditional Japanese hospitality, while being in walking distance of Shibuya Crossing and Meguro. The staff here are incredible and make you feel so welcome. I stayed in a room without private toilet or shower, but it was honestly fine considering I never had to wait for the ones in the hall (which were individual and had locks in the inside). On the nights that I stayed here, I was mostly around the Shibuya crossing / scramble area. One night I went out to a bar and was able to stay out really late which was nice, because I could easily walk home. If you sty here, definitely check out the many lunch spots in the neighborhood within a five minute walk behind the hotel. It was a super cute, quiet neighborhood, which was a nice change from hectic Shibuya. Definitely recommend! One thing to note is that there is not an elevator, but this was not a problem for me.
