Stayed here last night, I will never be returning. Awful experience, rude staff and so loud you could hear everything, especially when anyone walked or knocked on a neighboring door. The area is filled with homeless people, I would not recommend this area, or this property. When I told them about my experience, they were completely dismissive and lied about their cancellation policy (I wanted to cancel my second night there so it went to waste). Save your money, go next door, or really anywhere else.

I drove my daughter down to UCSC and needed a handy place to sleep before heading home. The room was spacious, bed was comfy, and bathroom set-up was good too. I felt safe.

Worse best western ever ,please be away of this “hotel “ so we arrived on Friday around 3ish our room stinks like really bad so I asked to have room service next morning and they never showed up ,no one is in the front desk to respond anything ,so noisy and they rent rooms to homeless,breakfast was awful Honestly the worst experience I ve had have in the beautiful city of Santa Cruz

I was checked in 2 visible used rooms. Then given a spic and span bottle to clean the affected areas. I reported this to the manager, nothing happened. They let the most customer PR person change my room and move my stuff to a new clean room--good. The attendant in question was still there offering dirty rooms to paid customer and clean rooms to her unpaid associates. I plan not to use this undiverse, the best Western, anymore.

This property is good because its near the boardwalk, freeway, food locations & supermarkets. It's clean, quiet, and felt safe. Issues we encountered: my room was missing an iron which I was counting on and wasn't able to get one even after asking front desk. We also got another room for our parents and theirs was missing a shower curtain and we also were not able to get one. We spent the 2 nights without a shower curtain since we took ours to my parents room thinking next day we could get one for our room, and it wasn't possible. Only xtras we got was towels to absorb all the water after showering. It was an okay stay.

A place to sleep or a romantic getaway?

Before you book this hotel, ask yourself what will you be doing in Santa Cruz. The room was very clean. The shower head was high enough for my 6'4" husband, and the water pressure was decent. The bed was a bit on the firm side, but not so hard that we were uncomfortable. The sink area was separate from the toilet and shower which is always nice However, there wasn't a towel rod by the sink, so the hand towel we were using had to be just laid on the counter. The floor of the bathtub wasn't slippery, but it also wasn't textured. There wasn't a grab bar in the tub/shower area, so I was very careful not to slip. The floor did get more slippery as soap and shampoo got on it. If you are planning a trip here to attend an event or explore the area, this is a great place to sleep, shower, and eat breakfast. If you're looking for a romantic getaway, though, this isn't the place at all. Some of the reviews mentioned problems with the parking lot being full, but we were there Wednesday-Saturday, and the hotel didn't appear to be full. Half of the rooms face the parking lot, and half of them face a strip of garden area and the back side of the next door hotel. There is no view of anything. Our room was closer to the street, and during the day the traffic noise was very loud At night it was quiet, but we weren't there in the middle of the summer It might be different then. The breakfasrt had the usual hot and cold choices. We would probably stay here again.
