Many of the best nightclubs in Orlando are around the Downtown area near Lake Eola Park, a few blocks away from the historic Church Street. In terms of what to expect, Orlando packs in a surprisingly long list of clubs – some of focus more on the VIP experience, while others emphasize the live music, welcoming some of the world’s biggest DJs and bands on a semi-regular basis.
Many Orlando nightclubs have welcomed the global phenomenon that is EDM with open arms. There are plenty of venues dotted around Orange Avenue where you go for some hands-in-the-air-action almost every night of the week, with doors closing around 2am. We’ve also included some of the city’s more diverse concert venues, as well as a couple of wildcards for the non-clubbers out there. Do note that these are 21+ only where ID is required, unless otherwise stated.

Read moreEVE Orlando has an upstairs main club room that goes big on style, both in terms of décor and the crowd it seems to attract. The giant glass chandelier above the dance floor is the focal point, while an LED wall, TV screens, and many VIP booths add to the appeal. There’s a cool 400-sq-ft balcony overlooking the busy Orange Avenue below – one of the most popular nightlife streets in town – while an equally stylish lounge downstairs plays more laidback house music compared to the dance anthems in the main EVE room.

Vyce Lounge
- Nightlife
Vyce Lounge claims to be Orlando’s only boutique nightclub, which we can only guess refers to the fact that it’s small, sleek and a bit pricey. As soon as you’ve stepped off the street and into the club, you’re practically already on the dance floor, which doesn’t normally get jumping until well after midnight. A row of small VIP booths lines the left side and 2 main bars make up the rest of the venue. Look out for Magic Mike – a big name in Orlando’s clubbing scene – who is the resident DJ playing on Saturdays from 10pm.

Open: Wednesday–Monday from 10 pm to 2 am (closed on Tuesdays)

Independent Bar
- Nightlife
A multi-level nightclub in Downtown Orlando, Independent Bar is one of the older places to make our list of the city’s top nightclubs. Split over 3 floors, there are 2 main club rooms and a more chilled-out bar. Independent Bar is quite famous for its themed 1980s night, while other nights, you can expect just as eclectic a playlist. DJs spin everything from house and indie to cheesy ‘90s tunes and top 40 hits. They also run 18+ nights, which requires an ID to get in.

Read moreThe Attic Orlando is one of the many top night spots around the Church Street and Lake Eola Park area of Downtown. The large club follows the whole 3-in-1 concept of most places nearby, with a bar area, VIP lounge and main club room. Attic welcomes local DJs and the occasional international name, and one thing you can be certain of is that it’ll be back-to-back EDM anthems all night long. There’s a definite VIP-vibe created throughout, though the interior goes for the more underground, industrial look with a nice mix of exposed brick walls behind the DJ booth and a wooden slate-covered dance floor.

Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar Orlando
- Nightlife
Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar goes big on the Latin vibes with classic Havana-inspired décor, a menu of Cuban comfort food and a long list of rum-based cocktails. Although it's more of a restaurant in the daytime, you’ll find much more of a club vibe at around 10 pm on weekends. Tables and chairs are cleared out to make way for dancing, with its house DJ spinning a lively Latin party mix. The restaurant offers bottle service and you can book a table in advance by phone. Cuba Libre is located at the highly-recommended Pointe Orlando (basically a purpose-built complex of bars, restaurants and shops).

Cowboys
- Nightlife
The longstanding Cowboys club near Clear Lake offers an authentic slice of American after-dark fun. Think live country music, line dancing sessions and no less than 30 TVs so you can catch the game or latest NASCAR action. The venue looks like a bit of a sad affair from the outside, with the chunky container sat in a sorry-looking parking lot off a busy highway. Don’t let that put you off, though. Once you’re inside, you’re greeted by the friendly wait staff, a vibrant colour scheme and a nice mix of comfortable seating options. Those aged 18 years and over can take part in line-dancing lessons during the week, though you will need your ID (and to be over 21) to get served a proper drink.

Red Coconut Club
- Nightlife
Latino live bands, top 40 hits and a lively crowd are usually what’s in store at Red Coconut Club. Split into 2 floors, you can choose to take a seat upstairs looking out over the night scenes below, or go straight for the dancefloor.
The décor is very 1950s in theme, but the kitsch fake palms and stars suit the relaxed mood perfectly. There is a cover charge for Red Coconut Club. If you are planning a night out to all the hotspots on CityWalk, consider purchasing a Party Pass to enjoy free entry and exclusive promos on drinks. Ladies nights take place on Thursdays.
