"This is a newer hotel. The location is a little difficult for walking to or from- taxis do not come by so we had to walk down to them each time. Think they haven’t found this hotel in the map yet. Room was lovely with fabulous views.

"Absolutely beautiful hotel.
What I love the most is the private onsen in the room. It's in a semi-open space (not in the room, but under a roof kind of in the back balcony).
The private onsen refills itself, and temperature regulated. It was amazing.

It is not in the middle of shopping and dining, but many shrines and temples are within walking distance. A subway station is only 2 minutes from the hotel, so you can go anywhere. There is also a hotel shuttle to drop you off at a couple of locations, but pick up is only from Kyoto station - about every 30 minutes. The breakfast option is outstanding and you should try it.
