My favorite city in Japan. We rented bikes and it was easy to get around.. bikeable, walkable, and great easy metro. Loved the traditional feeling, women in kimonos, old world architecture. Food is fabulous. Bamboo forest and monkey forest are a must

You can experience traditional Japanese culture and cuisines. It will be an amazing trip. But I recommend avoiding days when there are many travelers. Otherwise, you might get caught up in the crowd and find it difficult to enjoy the sights properly.

It's the best city in the world. Where else do you have 1600 temples, hills on three sides--and the headquarters of Nintendo? Everything old, everything new and everything hybrid--holographic displays in the temple's autumn Light-Ups--surround one.

Kyoto is a must see destination - go early for the popular tourist attractions however! And seek out off the tourist trap restaurants - our favourite was Hassunba (find on Instagram). Let Ikada san the owner, treat you with his delicious set menu.

Charming city. Deserves title of one of the most beautiful cities in the world. People were very friendly but it is one of the few cities in the world we know where young people do not automatically stand up for senior citizens in public transport

Kyoto has plenty to see and do. Recommend to book ahead to get your restaurant choices, many booked up so can't take walk-ins. Recommend doing a day tour as many sights need public transport to get around and a tour makes this more efficient.

Beautiful city with many things to do and see. Shopping, temples & shrines, gardens and lots of restaurants. Easy even for an American with little Japanese to negotiate the subway system which was clean and on time. Taxis were easy to find.

I love Kyoto, having been coming here for 40 years on a yearly basis. The last couple of years the overcrowding has become more noticeable. But even with that if you avoid the major attractions you can make brilliant, uncrowded discoveries.

"A beautiful room at a reasonable price. Proximity to both the local subway lines and the JR line (bullet train) makes this hotel the perfect place to stay. There are a multitude of restaurants available too! Even convenience stores in the train station! I highly recommend this hotel. "
