Poor choice of a hotel
This hotel is very old. Elevators were way too small with very little ventilation. Not a big selection of food. The balcony was way too small only two people could fit and that’s standing side by side. Pool was not big at all.

The hotel is nice, the food is good they try hard to keep guests happy, the service is excellent, my room was clean but the ac was a little warm but not bad, what I didn’t like is after dinner the hotel is boring the entertainment is not good if you like nightlife in the hotel you would get bored.

Great place to stay for a quick trip. Food could use some work but it wasn’t terrible. Staff is polite. The beach area is kinda slated on a hill, but it’s still in a beautiful location. Just be careful of the rocks. Overall I enjoyed my trip! The views from the Inspira Suite are spectacular.

6/10 Good

This stay at the Oleo unfortunately was not as pleasant as my stay 2 years ago. The check in was seamless and the room was ready. Big plus. Dealing with a 1 towel per person was annoying & I had to sign a waiver in order to receive an extra towel. That wasn’t the case 2 years prior. The food was still delicious but it was hit or miss at the Asian restaurant Hakka. The pool appeared to be a fun place although at 8a, people had already saved the lounge chairs making it impossible to get a chair. So unacceptable!!! I informed the employees in the lobby but they didn’t seem to care. The beach was marginal with a rocky entrance. The lifeguard, although cautious, yelled at anyone sitting on the rocks. The ocean was a bit rough during this visit in August and I’m unsure as to when it’s calmer. One day, a “do not clean my room sign” was placed on my door. I don’t know who would do that but after explaining the issue, the room was restocked & lightly cleaned. I was informed that the hotel is under new management therefore the changes and the lack of some services make it difficult for me to return which I will not return for any future stays.

Nice hospitality, resort not what I expected. Food was decent but no live entertainment at night which made night time kind of boring. Convenient bus travel and not far from all the interesting tourist spots. Resort is really a quiet get away location. The buffer is the only place that had good food.

We enjoyed our time at oleo Cancun playa resort mainly because of the staff and food. This is our 5th time visiting Cancun and came to the consensus that the amenities of the resort really lacked. There wasn’t any nightlife or events to attend other than the one fiesta night. No games, no pool table, no activities, it got boring and repetitive quickly. The pool closed early 8pm everyday and the beach was inaccessible because of the rocks. The rocks are not the resorts fault, but I feel like they shouldn’t have advertised it as beach front white sands (no one was sweeping the seaweed daily like other resorts). The food was better than any other resort we’ve been to. The rooms were spacious, but our toilet flush button was broken, and one of the light switches would never turn off so we had to make our own makeshift book holder to hold it down all night. We attended one of the three restaurants (Hakka) and it took over 1 whole hour for our order to be taken, it seemed super understaffed and a lot of miscommunication.

I love the pool and food. Beach was rocky with some seaweeds and we didnt get the best view of the beach because we were placed in 1st and 2nd floor. Also, we requested for adjoining rooms but didnt get it. Its our 2nd time here and will come back again

The water view from hotel was great. However you can not get in water there due to all the rocks be there. That was disappointing. Entertainment by pool is the same every day. Music ends early. Lobby bar was hot. Not sure if ac was not working. Again, entertainment eneded early. Only from 9-1030 everyday. Afterwards no music or entertainment was available on property. Music/entertainment options is my only complaint along with beach water. Over all nice stay.

The staff are super friendly and at your service no matter how small or big your request is. The surroundings was nice and just a bus to anywhere for 1 US dollar or 12 pesos per rider. The beach is turquoise and sands are white.

We really enjoyed our stay at Oleo. The hotel is very clean and the staff is really good. We also enjoyed the food. I gave 4 stars because you cannot swim at the beach directly in front of the hotel. You can swim nearby but then you will not have chairs, umbrella, service etc. We ended up taking a taxi to a very nice beach and renting an umbrella.

8/10 Very good

The best part about staying at Oleo were David & Gabriel at the dinner buffet service, the bartender Enrique at the pool, and Gerardo at the indoor bar with Live music. Take care of them, and they take EXCELLENT care of you with a smile, laughs, and a good time. Get the ocean view. It's worth it. We were greeted with champagne upon arrival AND there was a bottle and some sweet treats awaiting us in our suite. The food at the buffet option was impressive and Mexican night was EXCELLENT with Live Mariachi and mole that was SPOT ON. The Live music entertainment at the bar was a hit or miss, but a nice touch anyway. The pool scene was good, but the bar service closes at 7 PM and the pool closes at 8 PM, which really sucked. The facilities and property in general are well maintained, but we did see some closed areas in repair and the beach completely washed away (or so they said). That was the most disappointing aspect of the property. We were REALLY looking forward to being ON the beach. Instead, we made the best of it and did excursions. Because the buffet offered good options, we did not go to all of the other eateries, except for ALMAR. We were not at all impressed with the entrees. The biggest letdown was the pressure to attend a presentation in order to get presumably discounted rates for excursions. Overall, I would recommend this place. Keep in mind that it is not near the party scene which is nearest to Coco Bongo (Map it), but public transportation gets you there easily.

Our family recently stayed at the Oleo Hotel in Cancun and had a fantastic experience, thanks to the dedicated efforts of the staff who went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. What We Liked: - The food at the hotel's restaurants was diverse and superb. Every meal was delicious, catering to a variety of tastes. - The cleaning service was excellent, with friendly and polite staff who were always willing to help. The hotel also surprised us with a lovely deli tray to celebrate our wedding anniversary, which made our stay even more special. - The pool, while small, was adequate for the number of guests and provided a refreshing place to relax. - Efforts and Repairs:Despite the impact of the recent hurricane and the natural wear from salt corrosion, the hotel staff were consistently working hard to maintain and repair the property. Their dedication was evident and appreciated. Additional Comments: - While the hotel's beach was affected by the hurricane, requiring us to walk a bit further to swim, this was beyond their control, and they did their best to accommodate us. - The hotel felt safe and provided a peaceful environment. -The on-site dining options were excellent, and the overall convenience of the hotel's location added to our positive experience. -Gym Maintenance: We enjoyed using the gym, although it could benefit from better maintenance. We strongly recommend this hotel to everyone. We will definitely choose this hotel for our next vacation.
